Admissions Open for IIFM Bhopal Doctoral Programme in Management: Check How to Apply

The Indian Institute of Forest Management (IIFM), Bhopal, an autonomous institute under the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India, has announced admissions for its Doctoral Programme in Management (DPM/PhD). The institute has opened 20 seats across diverse research areas including Communication and Extension Management, Ecosystem and Environment Management, Environmental and Development Economics, Finance, Human Resource Management, Marketing, Information Technology and Quantitative Techniques, Sociology and Community Development, Strategic Management, and Technical Forestry.

To be eligible, candidates must meet academic requirements such as a Master’s degree, integrated Master’s degree, BE/BTech with relevant work experience, or professional qualifications like CA/ICWA/CS, generally with at least 60% marks. Applicants appearing in final examinations can also apply, provided they complete eligibility conditions within the specified timeline. Additionally, candidates must be under 45 years of age and possess valid national-level test scores such as CAT, GMAT, GRE, UGC-NET, CSIR-NET, ICAR-SRF, or DST Inspire, depending on the chosen specialization.

The selection process includes shortlisting based on test scores followed by a Research Aptitude Test (RAT) and multiple interview rounds, including general and faculty-area interviews. Final admission decisions are made based on combined performance in these stages. Selected candidates are admitted to their chosen research area, and changes in specialization are not permitted later.

IIFM also offers strong financial support to meritorious scholars. Up to 50% of top candidates may receive a monthly fellowship of around ₹35,000 during the first two years, increasing to ₹40,000 from the third to fifth year, along with an annual contingency grant of about ₹25,000 to support research activities. Scholars are also expected to contribute as teaching or research assistants during the programme. Applications are submitted online with a prescribed fee before the announced deadline.
