PhDs, Engineers Among 10 Lakh Applicants For 7,500 Constable Posts In Madhya Pradesh

In a striking development, nearly 10 lakh candidates have applied for 7,500 police constable positions in Madhya Pradesh, highlighting the intense competition for government jobs in the state. What has caught public attention is the diversity and high qualifications of the applicants. While the minimum eligibility for the posts is Class X (10th standard), the applicant pool includes over 12,000 engineers and around 42 PhD holders, alongside graduates, postgraduates, and diploma holders.

The Madhya Pradesh Employees Selection Board (MPESB) has reported receiving 9.76 lakh applications, which translates to almost 13,000 candidates competing for each available post. The overwhelming response led to an extension of the online application deadline to accommodate more aspirants.

The recruitment process will consist of a written examination, followed by a physical fitness test and medical examination. The written exams are expected to commence in late October 2026. Candidates who successfully clear all stages will secure one of the highly sought-after constable positions.
